On September 1, 2025 (local time), Jay Jiang, Party Secretary of Far East Holding Group, Executive Chairman of the Board, and Chief Executive Officer, led a delegation to visit the headquarters and production facility of Volklec in Coventry, United Kingdom. This visit marked a substantial step forward following the technology licensing agreement signed between the two companies in February this year, showcasing the depth and breadth of China–UK collaboration in the new energy sector.

Deepening Cooperation: Integrating Technology with Localization

Under the agreement, Far East Battery provides Volklec with access to its global supply chain resources and dispatches engineers to support capacity expansion at the UK Battery Industrialisation Centre (UKBIC). During the visit, Mr. Jiang engaged in in-depth discussions with Volklec founder Imran Khatri and his team, exploring how Far East Battery’s proven technologies can be integrated with Volklec’s localization advantages. Mr. Jiang also toured the UKBIC production site, underscoring the commitment to advancing cooperation towards practical implementation.

Core Strength: World’s Highest Energy Density in Mass-Produced Small Cylindrical Cells

Far East Battery is accelerating its global strategy with high-energy-density cylindrical cell technology at its core. The company’s 21700-6000mAh cell achieves an energy density of 300Wh/kg, ranking first worldwide among mass-produced small cylindrical cells, while ensuring stable performance across a wide temperature range from -40°C to 60°C. These performance advantages position Far East Battery as a leader in the global power battery industry. 

The product has also obtained multiple international certifications, including UL1642, UL2580, and WERCS in the Americas, as well as CE, RoHS, IEC 61000-6-1/3, and IEC 62619 in Europe, providing a solid “passport” for global expansion.

Strategic Significance: China–Europe Cooperation Shaping a New Industry Landscape

Against the backdrop of restructuring and challenges within Europe’s battery industry, Volklec has adopted Far East Battery’s proven technology to quickly build market credibility, while reducing R&D risks and barriers to commercialization. During the visit, Mr. Jiang emphasized that Far East Holding’s overseas expansion strategy is progressing steadily. Looking ahead, Volklec has secured £20 million in funding from UK investment institution Frontive Group and plans to raise an additional £80 million to build a 1GWh power battery production line. Far East Battery, through its “technology licensing” model, continues to deepen international cooperation, promoting Chinese innovation worldwide. This win-win model of “China’s technology + Europe’s localization” is set to reshape the global battery industry landscape and further strengthen the influence of Chinese enterprises on the world stage.
