Far East Battery Empowers Green Transformation for Leading Enterprise in Guangdong

Recently, the 50MW/100MWh energy storage project (Phase I: 25MW/50MWh) at Dongyangguang (DYG) Copper Foil in Ruyuan County, Shaoguan, Guangdong, officially broke ground. The project marks a major step forward in DYG’s efforts to establish a smart, high-efficiency energy management system.
Located within the Dongyangguang Industrial Park, the project has a planned total capacity of 50MW/100MWh, with Phase I delivering 25MW/50MWh. Designed with a two-charge/two-discharge configuration, the system adopts an outdoor modular layout, consisting of four 5MW/10MWh and two 2.5MW/5MWh battery units. At present, both the DC-side and AC-side equipment have been successfully installed, laying a solid foundation for subsequent commissioning and grid connection.
The project deploys Far East’s PowerSTROM 5000 liquid-cooled energy storage container, with a standard energy capacity of 5.016MWh. The product features high energy density, excellent efficiency, robust stability, and flexible configurations. Designed with a standard 20-foot single-side access container, it supports multi-level fire protection and safety interlock systems. The advanced thermal management system helps control temperature rise and temperature differentials, boosting system efficiency by 1% and extending cycle life by 10%. These features are key to reducing long-term operational costs and enhancing both the economic and environmental benefits of the customer's transition to clean energy.
The project primarily aims to provide peak shaving and valley filling, helping the enterprise reduce peak load, optimize its energy structure, and improve energy utilization efficiency. By storing electricity during off-peak periods and discharging during peak hours, the system can significantly lower electricity bills and transformer capacity charges. It also supports demand response, auxiliary services, and backup power functionality, ensuring power supply reliability and enhancing production continuity. The project is expected to support Dongyangguang Copper Foil in building a low-carbon, green manufacturing system.
