Innovation Recognized by the Industry | Far East Battery Wins the Lithium Battery Cell Technology Innovation Award

From December 18–19, the 2025 (10th) Starting Point Lithium Battery Industry Annual Conference, together with the Lithium Battery Golden Tripod Awards Ceremony, the Starting Point Research 10th Anniversary Celebration, and the 2025 User-Side Energy Storage & Battery Technology Forum, was held in Shenzhen.
Organized by Starting Point Lithium, Starting Point Energy Storage, and the SPIR Research Institute, the conference brought together industry experts and leading enterprises to explore the new cycle, emerging technologies, and evolving ecosystem of the lithium battery and energy storage industries.

During the conference, Dr. Xiang Jiangfeng, Senior Partner of Far East Battery, President of the Cell Research Institute, and Executive General Manager of Jiangxi Far East Battery, was invited to deliver a keynote presentation.
At the concurrent Lithium Battery Golden Tripod Awards Ceremony, Jiangxi Far East Battery Co., Ltd. was honored with the “Lithium Battery Cell Technology Innovation Award”, underscoring strong industry recognition of the company’s technological capabilities and innovation achievements.


Advancing High-Energy-Density Cylindrical Battery Technology

At the cylindrical battery technology session, Dr. Xiang delivered a keynote titled “Development Progress of High-Energy-Density Cylindrical Cells.” His presentation provided a systematic overview of global market trends and evolving application structures for cylindrical lithium-ion cells.

He noted that demand for cylindrical cells continues to grow steadily, with mature applications across e-mobility, smart home devices, and consumer electronics. At the same time, emerging fields such as drones, battery backup units (BBU), and humanoid robotics are opening up new growth opportunities.

Focusing on high energy density as a core technological objective, Dr. Xiang shared Far East Battery’s ongoing exploration and phased achievements in silicon-based anode technologies.

Through approaches including silicon nanostructuring, structural optimization, and composite design with carbon materials, the company has achieved breakthroughs across multiple technical pathways, such as silicon-carbon and silicon-oxide systems. These innovations effectively address key challenges related to silicon volume expansion and cycle stability, enabling continuous improvements in the capacity and energy density of 21700 cylindrical cells. Several high-energy-density cylindrical products have now reached industry-leading levels in both performance and reliability.

At the Golden Tripod Awards Ceremony held alongside the conference, Jiangxi Far East Battery Co., Ltd. received the Lithium Battery Cell Technology Innovation Award in recognition of its sustained innovation in cylindrical cell technology and strong engineering execution capabilities.

The award focuses on breakthroughs in core cell technologies, performance enhancement, and industrialized application outcomes, and is regarded as an important benchmark of technological strength within the industry. This recognition not only reflects Far East Battery’s continued investment and tangible progress in high-energy-density cylindrical cell development, but also highlights its comprehensive competitiveness in material system innovation, product reliability, and large-scale manufacturing.
