CIBF 2026 | Far East Battery and Far East Copper Foil Launch Two New Products, Achieving Dual Breakthroughs in High Energy Density and High Power Performance
Categories:Date:2026-05-14
On May 14, the 18th China International Battery Fair (CIBF 2026) continued in full swing at the Shenzhen World Exhibition & Convention Center. Far East Battery, together with Far East Copper Foil, officially unveiled two new flagship products and held a product launch event at 10:30 a.m., showcasing its latest breakthroughs in higher energy density and higher power performance, further demonstrating its R&D strength in cylindrical battery technology. The event attracted extensive attention from industry customers, strategic partners, and professional visitors.
During the launch event, Xiang Jiangfeng, Senior Partner of Far East Battery and Executive General Manager of Jiangxi Far East Battery, delivered an opening speech, sharing insights into industry development trends and the company’s technology strategy. Subsequently, Dr. Wang Zuocheng, Head of the R&D Service Department of Jiangxi Far East Battery, officially introduced the two new products and provided a comprehensive overview of their performance advantages, technological innovations, and application scenarios

One of the newly launched products, the high-capacity 18650-48E cylindrical cell, achieves an energy density exceeding 320Wh/kg, bringing the energy density of 18-series small cylindrical cells to a globally leading level. For comparison, the 18650-42E cell launched by Far East Battery in 2022 had already reached 300Wh/kg, placing it among the industry’s top-tier products. The release of the 18650-48E represents an approximately 12.5% capacity increase within the same form factor, resulting from coordinated optimization across material systems, structural design, and manufacturing processes.
With this breakthrough performance, the 18650-48E is well-suited for high-performance applications such as premium drones, electric two-wheelers, and robotics. Within the same size constraints, it enables longer runtime, lighter structures, and higher integration levels, creating new possibilities for lightweight and compact product design.
Meanwhile, the 21700-60S cylindrical cell attracted significant attention with its industry-leading “dual-high” positioning. While maintaining a high energy density of 300Wh/kg, the product achieves a continuous 5C (30A) discharge capability through deep optimization of its conductive network and structural system, delivering a breakthrough balance between energy density and power performance.

As the key material support behind these two new products, Far East Copper Foil also showcased its technological advancements in ultra-high elongation copper foil. To meet the evolving demands for high-capacity and high-safety batteries, as well as address cell expansion challenges associated with silicon-based anode systems, Far East Copper Foil optimized the crystal texture of copper foil to improve elongation performance. By promoting the transformation of the copper foil microstructure from columnar grains to equiaxed grains, reducing twin boundaries, and enhancing dislocation slip, the company achieved significant improvements in foil elongation performance at both the grain structure and micro-defect levels. Currently, related products have gained recognition from 70% of customers among the Top 20 cylindrical battery manufacturers, further demonstrating Far East’s integrated capabilities spanning copper foil materials, cell manufacturing, and system integration.

The 18650-48E represents our continued pursuit of the limits of energy density, while the 21700-60S achieves an optimal balance between high energy density and high-rate performance,” said Dr. Wang Zuocheng during the launch event. “Through diversified product portfolios, we aim to provide more precise and application-oriented solutions for different market needs.”
