A New Force in Source and Grid-Side ESS: PowerSTROM 7000 Sets a New Standard for System-Level Intelligence
Categories:Date:2025-06-20
From June 11 to 13, the SNEC 2025 PV and Smart Energy Expo was successfully held in Shanghai. As one of the most anticipated events in the industry, Far East Battery unveiled its latest source and grid-side energy storage solution — the PowerSTROM 7000 liquid-cooled ESS container. Officially launched at the event’s product release conference, the solution quickly became a highlight of the show.
At the launch site, Ma Chenglong, Partner and Senior Director of Products and Solutions at Far East Battery, shared his insights into the current state of the energy storage industry:
“The ESS market is evolving from price-driven to value-driven. Solutions that deliver long-term performance and system efficiency are becoming the new mainstream.”
Driven by improving time-of-use pricing mechanisms and supportive policies such as Document No. 136, China’s energy storage market is entering a new phase. The focus has shifted from minimizing upfront investment to maximizing lifecycle value.
Between 2018 and 2024, cumulative installations of new-type energy storage grew by 147.5%, with source and grid-side ESS becoming a critical enabler of the new power system — helping ensure grid stability, enable renewable energy integration, and support peak shaving and frequency regulation.
As the market matures, project owners are paying closer attention to whether ESS solutions can deliver stable operation and long-term revenue over a decade or more. Reliability and profitability are now core priorities.
In response to these changing demands, Far East Battery developed the PowerSTROM 7000, a next-generation liquid-cooled ESS container built specifically for source and grid-side scenarios.
This system delivers a powerful combination of high integration, intelligent control, and extreme climate adaptability, addressing key challenges in safety, efficiency, and lifecycle economics.
A modular PACK structure enables sub-minute-level replacement, significantly reducing downtime.
A CCS detachable design allows NTC components to be maintained independently, reducing O&M costs and extending system lifespan.
The system offers flexible energy configurations of 6.25MWh or 7MWh, meeting diverse project needs.
Designed to operate in -45°C environments, it includes an advanced thermal circulation system for reliability in harsh conditions.
“We’ve moved beyond competing on initial cost. Now it’s about total system performance, operational efficiency, and long-term return,” said Ma Chenglong. In this context, PowerSTROM 7000 is not just a product — it’s a complete solution spanning system selection, intelligent control, predictive maintenance, and revenue optimization. With pre-integrated manufacturing, one-stop testing, and remote monitoring, it maximizes both operational performance and investment efficiency.
Backed by Far East Holding Group’s 40 years of expertise in the power and energy sector, Far East Battery possesses full-stack, vertically integrated capabilities — from battery cells, copper foil, and cabling to complete ESS system integration. This foundation ensures product quality, reliability, and delivery at scale.
Looking ahead, Far East Battery will continue to invest in high-safety, high-efficiency, and high-intelligence energy storage systems, contributing to the high-quality development of China’s ESS industry and its global competitiveness.
