From July 1–2, the 2025 (4th) GG-Storage Industry Summit, hosted by GG-Storage and the GG Industry Institute (GGII), was successfully held in Hangzhou, China. Over 300 top-tier companies and 500+ senior executives from across the energy storage value chain gathered to discuss the future of storage in the context of China's rapidly evolving electricity market.

As an invited speaker, Mr. Ma Chenglong, Senior Partner and Head of the Energy Storage Institute at Far East Battery, took the stage to share insights. Keynote｜All-Scenario Solutions in a Value-Driven Storage Era

During the session titled “Technology Advancement: Embracing Electricity Marketization,” Mr. Ma Chenglong delivered a keynote speech titled “All-Scenario Energy Storage Solutions.” His presentation offered a comprehensive look at Far East Battery’s full-stack technology layout and how the company is responding to the challenges of the new value-driven market phase.

“As global energy storage capacity continues to rise rapidly—especially in the commercial & industrial sector, targeting 10GWh installations—our industry still faces critical pain points: rapid technology iterations, cost pressure, and safety risks,” Ma noted.

He highlighted how large-capacity cells are evolving quickly, AI is increasingly integrated into systems, and yet the market remains highly price-competitive with limited diversity in revenue models. Safety concerns such as battery thermal events also persist.

“Energy storage has shifted from being price-driven to value-driven. Today, a system’s ability to operate reliably in complex scenarios and generate sustainable returns has become the core metric for customers.”

Roundtable｜System Safety Beyond the Product

In a roundtable session on “Key Elements of Safety and Challenges in Electricity Market Transactions,” Mr. Ma joined other industry leaders to explore how safety must be redefined in the new storage landscape.

He emphasized that true system safety is not just about the product itself—it must be embedded throughout the entire lifecycle, including system design, delivery, and operation.
