Far East Battery Joins Polaris Forum to Share Insights on New Trends in Energy Storage Marketization
Categories:Date:2025-09-11
On September 10, the Energy Storage Marketization Innovation Application Forum, hosted by Polaris Power Network and Polaris Energy Storage Network, opened in Nanjing, Jiangsu. The forum focused on marketization trends in energy storage, discussing opportunities brought by new policies such as spot electricity markets, virtual power plants, green power direct supply, and zero-carbon parks. Experts, scholars, and industry representatives gathered to explore technological progress and market innovations in energy storage.

All-Scenario Energy Storage Solutions | Tackling Marketization Challenges
At the forum, Howard Ma, Managing Partner & Head of the Energy Storage Research Institute at Far East Battery, delivered a keynote speech titled “Comprehensive All-Scenario Energy Storage Solutions.” His presentation outlined how Far East Battery leverages its integrated capabilities to address the risks and challenges brought by marketization cycles, with a focus on technology evolution, product architecture, and safety assurance.

Howard Ma noted that while global new energy storage installations are growing rapidly—with C&I storage capacity nearing 10 GWh—the industry continues to face challenges such as fast-paced technological iteration, mounting cost pressures, and safety risks. He emphasized: “The energy storage industry is shifting from price-driven to value-driven. Whether systems can operate reliably and deliver sustained profitability has become the decisive factor for customers.” Leveraging full-stack in-house R&D capabilities—from cells and modules to PACKs and systems—Far East Battery delivers timely, high-quality products and services across source & grid-side, C&I, and residential storage scenarios.
Project Practices | Setting Industry Benchmarks
Far East Battery’s proven solutions have already been successfully applied in multiple landmark projects. The Hebei Hengshui Independent Energy Storage Station—the largest string-type independent project in China—was connected to the grid at the end of December 2024. With a total capacity of 200 MW/800 MWh, it was completed and commissioned in just three months, showcasing the company’s strong delivery capability in large-scale projects.

The Zenith Steel project, the world’s lowest energy-consumption zero-carbon steel plant, was connected to the grid in March 2025 with a capacity of 10 MW/20 MWh. This project not only helped optimize the company’s energy structure and reduce costs but also set a benchmark for green transformation in the steel industry. Additionally, the first phase of the Dongyangguang Copper Foil energy storage project (25 MW/50 MWh) in Shaoguan, Guangdong, supported by Far East Battery’s equipment, commenced smoothly in July 2025. These projects collectively demonstrate Far East Battery’s technological maturity and delivery assurance across diverse applications.
