Far East Energy Storage Delivers First 10MW/20MWh Energy Storage Project in Jiangxi Coal Mining Sector
Categories:Date:2025-10-14
Recently, Far East Energy Storage successfully commissioned its first 10MW/20MWh energy storage project in the coal mining sector in Fengcheng, Jiangxi. This project marks a significant step in integrating energy storage solutions into traditional energy industries, demonstrating Far East's commitment to supporting the green transformation of the coal mining sector.
The system comprises four 5MWh liquid-cooled energy storage containers and two 5MW step-up inverter units, all developed by Far East. These components are integrated with Far East's self-developed Energy Management System (EMS), enabling functions such as peak shaving, intelligent dispatch, and emergency backup. This integration enhances energy efficiency and ensures a stable power supply, even under extreme operating conditions.

Technological Highlights:
Energy Storage Containers: The PowerSTROM 5000 series features high energy density, efficient thermal management, and flexible configuration options.
Energy Management System (EMS): The EMS optimizes energy usage through peak shaving and valley filling strategies, and supports remote monitoring and fault detection, ensuring reliable operation.
Black Start Capability: The system can autonomously restart without external power, maintaining production continuity during grid outages.
The project is expected to achieve over USD 138,000 in electricity savings. its operational lifetime, with an estimated payback period of approximately five years. By increasing the share of clean energy in the energy mix, the project reduces reliance on fossil fuels and lowers carbon emissions, aligning with national carbon neutrality goals.
Far East Energy Storage plans to continue expanding its presence in the traditional energy sector, promoting the adoption of energy storage technologies across coal, power, and manufacturing industries. Through innovation and intelligent energy management systems, Far East aims to assist enterprises in transitioning from resource dependence to smart energy solutions, driving the industry towards a greener, safer, and more sustainable future.
