Smart Energy Upgrade! Far East Battery Strengthens High-Safety Power Supply for Jiangxi Mining Industry

Recently, Far East Battery’s 5MW/10MWh energy storage power station project at Fengcheng Coal Mine in Jiangxi Province was officially connected to the grid. Previously, Far East Battery had successfully delivered the first-phase ESS project for the mining area, earning high recognition from the customer for its stable operational performance, system safety, and professional delivery capability. The successful grid connection of this new project further deepens the cooperation between both parties and accelerates the mine’s transition toward a greener and smarter energy system.

Located in Fengcheng, Jiangxi, the project has a total capacity of 5MW/10MWh and is paired with a newly built 5MW distributed photovoltaic system in the mining area. The project adopts a “daytime PV-ESS synergy + nighttime peak-valley arbitrage” operating strategy, enabling coordinated operation between the ESS and PV systems to improve renewable energy consumption, optimize energy dispatch, and effectively reduce electricity costs while ensuring stable power supply for mining operations.

The system configuration includes two 5MWh liquid-cooled energy storage containers from Far East Battery and one 5MW booster PCS integrated unit, all supported by Far East Battery’s self-developed EMS (Energy Management System). Through integrated hardware-software coordination, the project enables PV peak regulation and “two-charge, two-discharge” operational strategies, further improving system economics and energy utilization efficiency.

To meet the stringent requirements of mining scenarios featuring high safety standards and continuous power supply demands, the project adopts Far East Battery’s liquid-cooled energy storage container PowerSTROM 5000. Each unit provides a standard capacity of 5.016MWh and features high energy density, high efficiency, strong stability, and flexible configuration capabilities. The system adopts a 20-foot single-side door design and supports a multi-level fire protection architecture with linked protection systems, further enhancing safety performance in complex industrial environments.

In addition, the system is equipped with an intelligent thermal management system capable of precisely controlling operating temperature and temperature differences, effectively improving operational efficiency and extending battery cycle life. While ensuring stable and safe operation, the system also helps reduce long-term operating costs and provides reliable energy support for enterprises undergoing green energy transformation.

Furthermore, the system features black start capability and supports intelligent remote dispatching. Under extreme operating conditions, it can rapidly restore critical power supply within the mining area, ensuring operational continuity and production safety while delivering both safety and economic benefits.

Based on Jiangxi’s 110kV large industrial peak-valley electricity pricing mechanism, the project is expected to achieve a payback period of approximately 4.5 years, with an estimated operating revenue of RMB 12.4 million throughout its lifecycle, demonstrating strong economic and long-term operational value.
